The Vita was created by artists for artists.

Our story

The Vita Gallery represents working artists ages 24-84 all around the United States, all of whom have ongoing stories to share, and whose stories inspire their work.

We employ real writers - not AI - to craft engaging stories so you can follow along and see what is as fascinating about our artists as we do.

Our focus on original art at prices commensurate with the artists' years' of experience is to create living wages for artists, while our commitment to providing affordable reproductions where possible honors our belief that art is for everyone.

We hope you find a place here.

In memory

The Vita is named after Vita Lugo (1982-2006). Vita was born in Washington State and was an especially gifted artist from a very young age. As a child she delighted in crafting jewelry and polymer animals and dabbled in stained glass, but especially excelled in drawing and painting. By the age of 14 she was selling her work professionally.

Her awards and achievements included: United States Achievement: Academy National Award Winner; Pierce County Executive’s Award, first place; Young American Creative Patriotic Art, first place; and the Certificate of Award, WA State Superintendent of Public Instruction’s 27th Annual High School Art Show, first place and honorable mention.

We have no doubt if Vita had been able to live longer her artwork would have been in galleries across the country. We are honored to carry her name and share her story.
